He is the son of the late Gordon and Vera Whitely and is survived by his wife Parie Lee, two sons, Allen (Susan) Whitely of Old Hickory, Jason (Kelly) Whitely of Dallas, Tex., two daughters Julia (Adam) Wray of Hendersonville, and Jenny (Greg) Proffitt of Goodlettsville, six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Connor, and Kyle Whitely, Will and Mallory Proffitt, Ella Kate Wray, and brother Travis (Margaret) Whitely ('52). The funeral service will be 11 am, Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home with Marlin Connelly officiating. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort. Interment to follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation, Tuesday, 5-8 pm and Wednesday, 10 am until the time of service at HARPETH HILLS FUNERAL HOME 9090 Hwy 100 (615)646-9292.
