| Mary Louise Fischer Fuchs (Class of 1951) Penn Valley, CA Age 78 June 10, 2011 Mary Louise Fischer was born in 1933 in Wisconsin, and died peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2011 at her home in Lake Wildwood due to complications from heart surgery. She was raised in Old Hickory, a suburb of Nashville Tennessee. After attending the University of Tennessee she transferred to and graduated from Vanderbilt University. After graduation she moved to Florida to work for Tampa Electric as a home economist. A highlight of her career there was hosting a televised cooking show. She married Ronald Kurt Fuchs in 1958 and they moved to San Jose, California in 1961 where they raised four sons, Mark, Michael, Kurt, and Eric. She worked to better her community through her involvement in several charitable organizations. She enjoyed sports especially tennis and cheering on her sons competing in swim meets. She worked for and retired from the San Jose Unified School District. After retirement Mary Lou and Ron moved to Lake Wildwood, California in 1999. Mary Lou enriched and brightened the lives of her many friends and family through her giving spirit and happy disposition. She organized many family birthday and holiday celebrations. Mary Lou loved to cook for family and friends and was renowned for her gourmet expertise and fabulous parties. She was involved with many charitable organizations over the years, most recently on the Board of Directors of “Friends of Hospice.” She participated in many social and craft clubs, chaired the community relations committee, led a full life and will be missed by all who have known her. A celebration of her wonderful life will be held on June 24 at 2:00 in the afternoon at the Lake Wildwood clubhouse. She is survived by her husband Ron, her sons Mark, Mike, Kurt, and Eric; two daughters-in-law, Becky and Stacy; eight grand children, Elizabeth, Abbey, Cooper, Will, Zach, Audrey, Alex, and Corbin, as well as her brother Bob and sister-in-law, Patty.
