Lakewood Theatre was founded in 1993 and is located in the old Becker's Bakery building in Lakewood (formally Dupontonia). Quality productions of such acclaimed plays as Bus Stop, Harvey, and Steel Magnolias along with musicals like Smoke on the Mountain and Nunsense as well as children's show such as The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Hansel and Gretel have assured audiences time after time. Read more about one of the best kept secrets around. | The Old Hickory Village Neighborhood Association was founded by a group of concerned citizens in June 1990. The group felt the neighborhood needed an organization to revitalize the Village. Many people agreed and before the end of the year the Association had 450 charter members. The Association has a governing Board of Directors consisting of men and women from all over the community. The Board of Directors serve in a voluntary capacity, planning events and activities. | The purpose of The Old Hickory Bunch is to maintain and renew the friendships developed while growing up or working together in Old Hickory. Anyone who went to school, worked, or ever lived in or around Old Hickory can join. Everyone agrees what fun it is to stay in touch, talk about old times, and catch up on whats going on now. They invite you to join them for lunch on the second Tuesday of each month at Ryan's Steakhouse at 11:00 a.m. | The Girls Club was formed in 1999 and includes ladies from the Old Hickory area. The "girls" meet for lunch on the third Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. at Ryan's Steakhouse in Hermitage. Like their counterpart, The Old Hickory Bunch, anyone who went to school, worked, or ever lived in or around Old Hickory can join. For more information, contact Sandra Cartwright Eddins ('56). | The Old Hickory Area Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1991 and serves business and individual members throughout the Old Hickory, Tennessee area. The Chamber hosts a monthly luncheon meeting at 11:30 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Old Hickory Country Club. The cost of the lunch is $10.00, and they invite you to attend. You can visit their Web site at www.oldhickorychamber.com. | Christian Community Outreach, Inc. is a non-profit organization chartered in 1986 for the purpose of providing emergency food, clothing, and financial assistance as well as referral services to persons in need in the Old Hickory area. The Center is a joint venture of nine churches, and two representatives from each church make up the Board of Directors. It is located in Rayon City and is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. |
