DuPont High School Alumni Association

Welcome

We hope your visit brings back pleasant memories of your years at DuPont High.

Each month, we profile an alumnus/ae who has been recommended by fellow classmates for his or her activities, accomplishments and/or outstanding contributions. If you have someone you would like to recommend, send us the information and why you think they should be "Alumni of the Month."

Alumni support has made it possible to continue our scholarship awards program. Only High School Seniors graduating in 2010 are eligible to apply. Your contributions to the Scholarship Fund may be made by indicating your contribution amount on the Annual Reunion Registration form  or send a donation via PayPal.
Any alumnus/ae who attended DuPont High in Old Hickory or DuPont Senior High in Hermitage may obtain a scholarship application for a child, grandchild or great-grandchild. Requests for application forms should be mailed to P.O. Box 68, Old Hickory TN 37138, or send an email to scholarships@dupontalumni.org. Please provide your name, address and class year. Also, the form is available in Adobe PDF (Click Here). Deadline for submission of scholarship applications each year is June 30.

DuPont High School was organized in Old Hickory in 1926 as a two-year high school with three teachers and sixty-three pupils, and was housed in the DuPont Grammar School building. A third year was added in 1927 and a senior year in 1928. The first graduating class was the class of 1929. In 1930, a new high school building located at 2001 Hadley Avenue (now Old Hickory Blvd.) was constructed. In November 1967, the high school building was completely destroyed by fire. In the fall of 1969 a Senior High School, retaining the DuPont High name, was completed on Tyler Drive in Hermitage. Today, the Tyler school is a Middle School and the DuPont-Hadley Middle School is located at the original Hadley Avenue location.

DuPONT-HADLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL'S RECYCLING DROP-OFF SITE
We all should be recycling our trash. Did you know that there is a recycling drop-off facility in front of Joe Wallace Field at DuPont-Hadley Middle School in Old Hickory? Did you also know that the school benefits financially from the recycling income?
The facility is open 24 hours and accepts: newspaper, mixed paper, paper board, cardboard, aluminum, tin, glass containers, plastic bottles & containers.
Let’s all recycle to help the environment plus providing much needed income to DuPont-Hadley Middle School.

Nomination FormFrom the first graduating class in 1929 until the last graduating class in 1986, DuPont graduates have made their mark on the world, the nation, the state, and local communities. In summary, they have made their alma mater proud. Do you know a graduate who matches this description? The Association wishes to honor up to 3 graduates who have “made their alma mater proud.” If you would like to nominate a living male or female graduate for one of the awards, please click here.
